MIT and Hasso Plattner Institute launch AI and Creativity Hub for interdisciplinary research
MIT and the Hasso Plattner Institute have established the AI and Creativity Hub to enhance collaboration between computing and design. This 10-year initiative aims to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and human creativity through research, educational programs, and fellowships.

The MIT Morningside Academy for Design, MIT Schwarzman College of Computing, and Hasso Plattner Institute have launched the AI and Creativity Hub (MHACH) to foster interdisciplinary research and education in AI and creativity.
Funded by the Hasso Plattner Foundation, the initiative aims to deepen collaboration between technology and design, addressing societal challenges through innovative approaches.
The collaboration will kick off with a two-day workshop at MIT, bringing together faculty, students, and researchers to establish priorities for the hub.
The hub will support academic programs, fellowships, and research initiatives, with a focus on creating a dynamic community that encourages experimentation and learning across disciplines.
A steering committee will oversee the governance of the hub, which will also develop classes and experiential opportunities related to AI.
The collaboration reflects a commitment to exploring how AI can enhance human creativity and generate impactful ideas, with a long-term vision for faculty appointments and doctoral training.
